About Me

Hello there and welcome to my store!

I'm thrilled to share a little bit about myself and my passion for the planet. My name is Amanda, and I'm a firm believer in the power of small changes to make a big difference. As an advocate for the environment, I'm particularly concerned about the impact of coffee capsules on our planet.

I'm an ardent coffee lover, but I've become increasingly aware of the negative consequences that single-use coffee capsules have on our environment. The sheer volume of capsules ending up in landfills is staggering, and it deeply troubles me. Rather than feeling overwhelmed by this issue, I firmly believe that small changes and collective efforts can create a significant positive impact, so back in 2018 I started looking for ways to may my coffee drinking as zero-waste as possible, and sharing with others the best options I found that weren't greenwashing in some way. I create The Eco Coffee store initially selling reusable capsules, but constantly looked for better alternatives that solved both the capsule issues, and also issues around the environmental impacts of coffee farming on the planet and farming communities.

Instead of aiming for perfection and potentially falling short, I'm a firm believer in taking consistent and meaningful actions. I embarked on a personal journey to reduce my own coffee capsule waste by exploring eco-friendly alternatives and through this journey I found the world's first home compostable capsules and reached out to them to find out more.

But my love for the planet extends beyond coffee capsules. I actively seek out opportunities to make sustainable choices in my daily life. From reducing plastic waste by using reusable bags and water bottles to supporting local farmers and businesses, I believe that these cumulative efforts can create a ripple effect of positive change.

I'm also a strong advocate for raising awareness and educating others about the importance of sustainable living. Whether it's through conversations, social media platforms, or local community initiatives, I strive to inspire others to make small changes that collectively have a significant impact on our planet.

While it may be tempting to focus solely on one grand gesture, I firmly believe that the combined power of numerous small changes can create a more sustainable future. By embracing a mindset of progress rather than perfection, we can motivate ourselves and others to take action and strive for a more environmentally conscious lifestyle.

So, join me on this journey! Let's make a difference together by embracing small changes, spreading awareness, and nurturing a deep love and respect for our planet. After all, the smallest actions often lead to the most profound transformations.

As Ann Marie Bonneau, the Zero Waste Chef says:

"We don't need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly. We need millions of people doing it imperfectly."
